Or would having two USB devices one for input garagehand one for output introduce more lag as the sound has to go between the two? Line level or Mic level into the preamp and you’ll need the right cable. Results 1 to 10 of I’ve not heard anything either way about the UM22 preamps.
My thinking is that the problem may be your USB output from your amp. Gsrageband not much more than the MultiMix 4. But when playing live into GB there is a lot of latency. Certainly not a cheap option.

I’m a PC Cubase 8 user, and have been using that software for over 20 years. We have a few resident Mac experts around here, hopefully one of them will happen by and be of assistance. Dither is always used when converting Sample Rates.
Looks like there are no drivers to add to your Mac to control settings with these Peavey Amps! After several minutes, LatencyMon will display an evaluation of the suitability of your computer for digital audio.
It can record audio, but has little editing capability. As garage band doesn’t seem to have any method to adjust parameters of the sound device, you are stuck with what Apple provide, and while cubase can tweak the internal sounds, there seems no way to do that from the system preferences panel.

Latency through the one device is small enough not to matter IF I could asjo hear what’s coming out of GB. Ten minutes convinced me it’s not a serious product, and designed for real entry level users.
The experienced Digital Guys can advise on whether that’s a no no or not. Sign in to disable this ad. The Focusrite Scarlett is the only interface I can think of right now, but there are several other similar interfaces available. It’ll pay off in the long run anyway.
If specific drivers are causing issues, LatencyMon will indicate them. KPMar 14, Using ONE without any software- input directly to output: Sampling conversion has been somewhat problematic since the beginning, and although has gotten better, I wouldn’t expect GB to deal with it well.
If you look at things like the Focusrite Scarlett, they have a direct monitor button, which switches between the direct aka dry input, and the signal being returned from the computer.
I’d contact Peavey and see what they have to say if you can’t find a driver on their web site.
